Commonly Asked Questions:
Q: Why is microneedling an effective treatment?
A: Microneedling is one of the most amazing medical aesthetics treatments on the market. Microneedling aims to stimulate the body’s own collagen production to tighten, lift and rejuvenate the skin, as well as reduce the appliance of fine lines, pores, stretch marks and scarring. Microneedling resurfaces the epidermis while stimulating growth factors, fibroblasts and collagen/elastin synthesis. To accomplish healthy skin, the ideal skin rejuvenation treatment needs to target three key cells: Kertinocytes, melanocyte and fibroblasts and regulate their function. Microneedling is the only treatment that respects all three main target cell types. There is limited down time and most skin types/conditions can be treated. The treatment also creates high profit margins.

A: Millicent Russo has been a licensed aesthetician for 17 years. She is also a licensed instructor and certified laser technician. She was the school director and lead student instructor at the National Aesthetics Institute in the early 2000’s. She then moved into medical spas and doctor offices where she honed her medical aesthetics practice.
Q: Is cross contamination an issue with microneedling?
A: The microneedling tips are single use only and should be put into a sharps container when done being used. Also, the skin should be thoroughly prepped and the pen should be cleaned properly between each client. Saftey for technician and client alike the number one concern. In the training course, you will learn how to keep yourself and your client safe.
Q: Are aestheticians allowed to microneedle in the state of Arizona? Will microneedling became regulated?
A:Currently there are no regulations on microneedling, and aestheticians in the state of Arizona are allowed to microneedle.
There has been a lot of talk, for a very long time about microneedling becoming regulated. For now, aestheticians are free to pratice microneedling. Also, laws are usually based upon protecting the public. Thus far, microneedling has generally been safe for the public. Like tattooing, it’s up to the consumer to research and choose a qualified professional. If microneedling were to become regulated, the size and depth of the needles would probably have restrictions for aestheticians. All of that information is covered in class.
